Given the way this has traded the last couple of weeks (and the fact that the company suddenly stepped up in front of the announcement to buy it's own stock), it is clear that the GLDX deal has very strong support and there is absolutely no doubt that it is going to sail through without a hitch... unless there is a "superior offer" that ends up being presented to GLDX.  ...more

okay, maybe not enough said... Here's the "magic" in the deal, and (at least in part) why a cash offer for GLDX at this point would absolutely have to be significantly higher. Let's suppose that a cash offer of C$ 500 million (maybe 6.50 a share) is made for all of GLDX.  What would that mean for GCM?  Well, to cash out it's 20% adds $100 million to its coffers ...more

So, in short, I think there needs to be very little (maybe none whatsoever) concern that GCM will have any need or desire to "better" its offer for GLDX at this point.  It's a very, very strong offer as is.

>> It's a very, very strong offer as is.  Maybe too strong given the undervaluation of GCM.  But, then again, maybe that was just my perspective on it.  If gold continues north (and I suspect it will), there is added value there.
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Mar 20, 2021 4:08pm
I wouldn't mind a higher offer for GLDX, however, I don't think it would be substantially higher.  I could see something in the vicinity of $5 CAD, which GCM would have no problems matching. A potential suitor could've been GPL and their Tucano mine is about as close to Toroparu as Segovia is.  But, their share price is languishing under $1 USD and they have no equity ...more

Did a little pondering on your post Heywood Silvers.  You have to give SVM a little consideration as they probably know the project better than present management but I really do not know where they are at in other ventures so maybe not. Zijin gives me more concern. Serofino is the dude I would like to hear what he thinks as this is his second kick of the can and how long has he sat at ...more

>> I could see something in the vicinity of $5 CAD, which GCM would have no problems matching. You're all smoke and mirrors, Heywood.  Because what that statement truly reveals is that you don't actually (or honestly) believe your previous rants on Toroparu's great value, given you think a mere $5 CAD cash offer will somehow be seen as being higher and more ...more

You're reading way too much into my post.  I'll break it down for you:  based on current prices for GCM, GLDX shares are valued at $4.11 CAD.  Based on current prices, a $5 CAD offer would be superior, but nothing so far removed from $4.11 that it couldn't easily be matched by GCM. Both GCM and GLDX are well undervalued based on today's prices, so it is what it is.& ...more

Ike, my post was written in very plain English, and simple enough for an average investor to understand.  There is nothing "veiled" in it, or about it.  Maybe try asking someone a little older or more savvy than yourself to explain it.  I am done with it. (And don't kid yourself.  There are plenty others that "get it," even if they never read or post ...more

Well, if you were offered TODAY .6948 shares of GCM or $5 CAD cash, which would YOU take?  I'd take the cash, buy the share of GCM and pocket the difference, wouldn't you? Now, if a counteroffer does come along, assuming that it is not drastically higher than the current offer from GCM, it would be no big deal for GCM to match or up their offer.  Would GLDX management suggest ...more

>> I'd take the cash, buy the share of GCM and pocket the difference, wouldn't you? Ah... so for just your 10 or 20 shares, that's what completes the picture for you. But anyone that thinks that could be done with a million shares (never mind the total outstanding shares) is dumber than a bag of rocks.

You are truely amazing menoalittle how you resort to try to make others as diminitive as  you truely are(and not just your name). Pesonal attacks especially on intelligence is so infantile. How old are you anyway? IKE

You think I'd waste my time here if I only had 20 shares?  Um, GLDX is one of the largest positions in my portfolio.  I'll gladly entertain any superior offers for my shares, if you would do otherwise you'd need to have your head examined!! Is .6948 a bad offer?  No, I never said it was.  In fact, I said it was a legitimate offer that I'll likely vote yes for.& ...more

HeywoodSilvers you da man. I think you said it all although I know the irrational will see  it differently. Would you care to hazzard a guess of what chance the deal has of going  thru as is? Will we get any indications news from GLDX in April on the jewelry boxes on size? How much will jewelry boxes increase the size of the resource is the question is the 64K question. Deal will definitely go through, unless a far supeior offer from another suitor appears.  That is really the only drama at this point:  will we or won't we get the cherry on top for our shares?? Now, one could ask themselves if GLDX witheld the recent announcement until after the merger was announced to either give GCM a better deal or to spur counteroffers post merger announcement ...more

Sir Heywood Silvers my good fellow Cherry on top would be good but I am more  concerned about getting sprinkled nuts (preferably not my own). We could easily be worth more than the .6948 share ratio currently per the agreement.  If anything is going to trigger a counteroffer, news of a potential sizable increse to Toroparu's resource and average grade coud do it.
