Brioche, here is a real story from 1922 Weimar Germany.  A man leaves his cart wheel filled with money in front of a store to get directions to the closest grocery store.  A minute later he reappers just to see the money intact but the cart wheel gone. I think the moral of the story as it applies to GCM is clear.   SI is an empire builder.  Do you honestly believe that he ...more

I now this story.I'am german. Those times where totally different.Inflation is a result how much money meets how much ware, services.Today we have rather a depression. Many people money printing leeds to inflation. That's wrong.Especially when there is no interest rate for credits.A second driver is when banks collapse.Thats a critical point because in europe the banks had no income anymore ...more

another incorrect interpretation of inflation. Inflation is by definition an increase in money supply. Printing money does not increase inflation?? Ffs, if that was true we wouldn't have to pay any taxes they would just print all the money they want...it NEVER ends well. People for some reason think that these huge macro changes have to play out overnight....they approve a stimulus package and ...more

A few comments, eap. First, some of us are older meaning long term is different from a 30 year old.  Trust me, inflation is apparent, every time I go to grocery store. Housing, gas, you know, the things we actually use, are definitely going up. The government just doesn't include them in their "basket". But, the media is already trying to convince us that gold is not the place ...more

I agree with you soprano that price increases are already here, but nowhere near as high as they should/will be. The CPI, which is these days adjusted to account for "hedonics" is a blatant lie, but many if not most money managers use it to gauge inflation. If the bankers were in full control gold would still be trading at $250 per oz...I think they have some manipulative control over it ...more

As an example of the disconnect in the metals market, I buy silver monthly and while they say that there is little out there they are stocked but the commission I pay is now 20%. Why isn't the price of silver going up with commissions more in line with before? They talk about the reddit buyers and all the demand from solar panels, EVs, etc, plus the scarcity, yet price can't move up. Just ...more

yes premiums are ridiculous...I have switched to buying sterling silver and refining it to .999 fine myself....can still buy that well under spot price

Bullion banks just have a fraction of their so called gold and silver assets backed by physical gold. Unless you get physical delivery, or buy into an ETF that backs all its assets by physical PM's .you are only buying a piece of paper   All they have to do is create more derivitives and since there is very little delivery of physical gold, any BS that they claim as running out of silver ...more

I must misunderstand what you are saying . A 30% premium would leave us more than a dollar below where we started out in January . Is that what you are saying ? Sell GCM .
