Gran Colombia Gold Discovers Two High-Grade Veins at El Silencio Mine 12 Jul 2021 07:24 ET 07:24 AM EDT, 07/12/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Gran Colombia Gold (GCM.TO), which rose 1.6% on Friday, this morning detailed high-grade intercepts from the first 59 diamond drill holes of an infill drilling campaign at its El Silencio mine in Colombia, including mineralization from two new recently discovered veins.
Result highlights from the ongoing 23,000-meter drilling campaign include 137.44 g/t gold and 10.1 g/t silver over 0.56 meters in hole ES-GM-U51-20 from the newly discovered 1040 vein, and 93.19 g/t gold and less than 0.3 g/t silver over 0.54 meters in ES-GM-U51-U59-20 from the 1150 vein, another new discovery.
"With the discovery of two additional high-grade veins at the El Silencio mine, close to the mine workings currently in production, we remain confident that we will continue to expand mineral resources and add to the mine life for this operation," said Gran Colombia Executive Chairman Serafino Iacono.
Gran Colombia has three diamond rigs in operation at its Segovia property carrying out resource definition within the underground developments of El Silencio in a program that has another 13,000 meters of drilling to be completed in 2021.
Another seven rigs are in operation at the property, the company noted.
