Someone will let the cat out of the bag.....

And investors will soon wake up and realize that GCM mines high-grade gold and that we are on the cusp of breaching $2k gold en route to new all-time highs.

What a revelation it will be to some!!

What can GCM do in the meantime?  1)  continue buying back shares.  2) list on the NYSE.

This isn't rocket science here, where is it written in the bylaws of the corporate charter that the company must be the best-kept-secret on the block?!

Gcm's fair value is somewhere between 6 and $8. Most miners, even some of the best are trading 20 to 30% below fair value at the moment. So what's so special about this one? Oh I know...it's in Columbia so investors will always be reluctant to own it.

what are you referring to if you say GCMs fair value is between 6-8 CAD? Where is this number coming from?
Comment by Stratocheif on Mar 06, 2022 10:46am
They produce 200k oz. A rule of thumb I've been using for a good miner is about 400 million market cap per 100k oz at these gold prices. This fluctuates. 2 years ago with energy and other costs lower and gold a bit higher, it was 400 million. Now it's 350 million or maybe lower. So an estimate of its fair value market cap is somewhere between 6 to 800 million (right now 550 million), or 6 ...more

Well, you are using a pretty simple approach, saying that all xxx procuders should be valued the same. You should consider many differnet ratios and numbers, but if we keep it that simple, then you get the following:  If you only consider Sergovia, 800 mio USD would be a fair valuation. However, you have to consider all the other assets such as - Toroparu: NPV (1800 USD, 5%) = 1,35 billion US ...more

Im a Little green on the Sector. Can you give some exemple of a 200k Producers with a market cap of only 500million... ? I though that the rule of thumb (as per eric sprott) was 1 billion per 100k ? And that was before the gold boom?
Comment by Stratocheif on Mar 06, 2022 6:35pm
1 billion per 100k. Haha. I'm not surprised. Mr Sprott likes to pump the sector to his benefit for sure. Never listen to statements made by anyone heavily invested in something. It's called conflict of intetest

Don't take opinions from me. All the info you need can be compiled with a couple of hours on the internet looking at reports and presentations by miners in that range...for example JAG, CXB, AR, VGCX, FVI, GPR, BTO, EQX, etc

The internet is a vast resource that was not there 40 years ago. Back then people used to rely on advice of thier broker and the newspaper and the hard copy of the annual report. Oh and you could always go to the library lol. And you could always call investor relations but do you think they're going to give you info that's not already public? Now EVERYTHING is there on the internet if you ...more

A couple of years ago Sprott was pumping Wallbridge mining as his number one pick. The market cap shot up to $1 billion. It's just an ore body. No mine there. Now it's market cap has fallen 75%. You can put whatever value you want on a piece of earth. The crunch comes when it actually becomes a producing mine. Toroparu and all the others....let's see the gold being poured and then ...more

Gold will go over 2k this week.  The younger generation(s) simply won't pay attention to what is happening in the PM sector until it is flying like a bat out of hell.   But, no matter. ('casue that day is coming sooner than a great many of them think...)

You are right. I had a long arguement with my son last night. He was trying to convince me to buy cryptos. He didn't succeed lol.

Agreed that first and foremost on the agenda should be buying back shares. But why bother suggesting the NYSE when the Nasdaq would accomplish much the same (for much less)?
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Mar 06, 2022 7:49pm
GCM could list on the NYSE Amex, instead of the Big Board.  Yes, NASDAQ is another option that isn't as expensive.  But, I think we are all in agreement that GCM has a marketing problem - not enough know about it or they are reluctant to dabble in the foreign/OTC stocks. Listing stateside should boost share prices and will lessen any potential dilution in the future in the event ...more

It's not a marketing problem, it is reputation. Several Canadian companies operating in Colombia or some locations in Africa are being attacked with false information being spread on the internet. The narrative is always some small village at risk or an activist being killed over mining or drilling. When real investors find this information via google, true or not, they steer clear. What you ...more
