Why is this stock such a dog?

I'm not bashing, i'm asking.. $119 oil and this dog is not even up 1%.. yet many other majors, seniors and juniors up over 5% again and again.

Why?

Would definitely be nice to get some more price appreciation, especially looking at companies like Meg. But idk if you look at the one year chart it's really not that far off some other names.

Also, I really don't care that it's staying low. I own some other oil and gas and I'll just rotate them into this if it stays at depressed levels. Will be getting a great yield (especially after div increases and buy backs) if the price doesn't go up.  also if it doesn't go up, it'll probably get bought out. Major tax advantage for an acquirer

It's not a dog. It's a super conservative company with carefully measured moves and that often gets equated with words like 'boring' and 'unflashy.' At the time, I remember being shocked that they actually made a play for VII. It turned out well but it was uncharacteristic in my view. The reality is some of us like boring. Boring produces stable returns and carries limited ...more

Lots of historical resistance around $15 could have something to do with it.
