My last question as I’m not a bean counter

I'm reading that the company is paying down debt and buying back shares.  How did they do this when they lost money?

You need to focus on what is most important. Not the accounting income or profit, but the CASH FLOW. The Company generated $760 million in cash flow from operations during the quarter. From this cash flow the Company paid down $130 million of debt, paid $70 million in dividends, repurchased $200 million worth of shares and invested $350 million into CAPEX and non cash working capital to maintain ...more

We all "wish" they didn't have the hedges but they unfortunately came with Kakwa . Kakwa will be spewing FCF long after those hedges run out , don't let the chicken little crowd make you question the asset you hold here . nicky is so full of it his/her eyes are brown

It’s just a paper loss, kind of like selling your house last year for $500k and the new owner just sold it for $600k, you lost out on $100k if you would of waited. Same as hedging, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Companies with stretched balance sheets were forced into poor hedges by the banks. The big guys like Cnq , Tourmaline etc didn’t have to go that route or hedge to the extent smaller ...more
