Have share buybacks really been accretive?

ARX has bought back roughly 16% of their shares, their 2022 average annual production was 345,000 boe/day.

So essentially for buying the equalivent of 55 thousand boe/day they paid over 2 billion dollars.

Advantage today is trading at 1.2 billion and is producing more than 62,000 boe day. Own Glacier Gas Plant.

Crew  800 million market cap and is producing more that 33,000 boe day.

ARX management is good a burning capital, destroying capital, and not paying shareholders.

ARX needs a new management team, and their staff it twice the size as TOU and all the cheerleaders on the board are telling you a fairy tale story.

Someone should buy ARX, fire 2/3 of the staff, and fix the risk management mess. ARX is a good buy for TOU.

IMHO

Less than 21/2 years since the merge. 250% share price gain. Triple the dividend. Seems accretive to me. Easy Hold! GLTA ARX BULLS

Pretty dumb answer considering the hedging losses and the burned capital on share buybacks, the company should of gotten a rerating by now. Eric Nuttal your share buyback advocate has left the party, and no longer wants to be here.  I tired of an investment mentality that simply looks at the share price and says it was higher then yesterday. You have proved yourself to be a fool.  ...more

It was a pretty dumb question given the facts that you ovviously can't refute. There are 2 things that matter here.  The share price and the dividend paid. Go ahead and try to knock them.  You can't.   Glad you are tired. Give up. Easy Hold! GLTA ARX BULLS

More real inteligent feedback, is doesn't matter how the management performs, because as long as they pay you a dividend you given them a green light to squander another 2 billion plus on risk management, that a unique get rich approach. I got some desert property you can buy, it pays a monthly rent and you will get you money back in 100 years, the returns are solid.  The share price is ...more

Hey dufus,  read the question you asked below and then ask yourself what accretive means. Have share buybacks really been accretive? What is Accretive? In both finance and in general lexicon, the term "accretive" is the adjective form of the word "accretion", which refers to gradual or incremental growth. For example, an acquisition deal may be deemed accretive for ...more

Quit living in the past, I bout NVA at 59 cents look at what its at today, POU is my largest holding with a cost base around 2 dollars. Kelt because of someone on this board i purchased and have a pretty major holding and expect a double there.  The only stock that i own i am concerned about it this one, and it not the operations or the resouce it the rookie management.  IMHO

Quit living in the past   "Waah  2 billion in hedging losses".  PMSL I thought you were only trading ARX?  Buy low, sell high, rinse repeat.  What is with this holding BS? You don't own this you're trying to push it down so you can buy.   I am glad you are expecting a double in Kelt.  I have over a double here and am expecting ...more

Crew, blah blah blah.  Whats your point. Advantage, blah blah blah.  Whats .... MHP still hasn't figured out how valuations are determined.   Also, management put their money into Kakwa just as you were demanding many months ago.  Now you claim they should be replaced for following your advice.  What a fool.

I will stop complaining about hedging losses, if heaven forbid they ever have a hedging gain. The incompetant CFO/Bibby that run the hedging profile will ensure that never happen.  ARX needs a complete accounting/finace changeout for the company to improve.  Bibby needs to go. IMHO

You can always tell who the weak-minded investors are... They're the ones who completely lose thier minds during a routine correction. Bull thesis maintained.

Well management is not living in the past.  Remember the hedges were put in place by VII to guarantee FFO to cover their huge debts. Now the hedges are rolling off but who knew that Malin would have such high NG prices? BTW the funds made from Malin gas sales far outway the hedge loss they took in Q1. Hedges will roll off.  No one is buying them back obviously.  Which is ...more
