Algoma & Stelco are a "STEEL"

Some nice bargains today.
Nucor & Steel Dynamics have already posted "record" 1st Quarters earnings.
US Steel have forecast a strong 1st Q.

Algoma's won't be a record (based on quidance previously reported) but the 
lower shipments, due to transportation & other issues in 1st Q, will simply be deferred to 2nd Q.

US Steel beat the earnings consensus for 1st Q & is predicting the "strongest ever 2nd Quarter" ... but Algoma & Stelco shares continue to fall ??

Gotta love the "expert" analysts. Based on TD WebBrokers EPS estimate for Algoma, they will actually make more (in total dollars) than Stelco (in the upcoming Q). That obviously won't happen. I suspect they've never adjusted Algoma's outstanding share count. Regardless, Algoma's Price/Earnings ratio is currently at 1.9. You can't get much lower. Even a lowly 3.0 ...more
