For Sale ---To The Highest Bidder

Looks like Fortesque is taking over Alta Copper without the formality of a taleover bid.  Decisions will be made if the 4 directors who did not get enough votes will stay.  If not Fortesque will put in its own board.

With the new board Alta"s business plan will change.  Alta has enough reserves  for a mine.  No reason for more drilling.  BUT, majors look for deposits with 50+ years of reserves.  We'll never know if there is another discovery at Quebrada Verde or a surprise at Canariaco Norte or Sur prolonging mining life.  We will have nothing for the big companies to fight over in a bidding war.

The deposits are not Fortesque's to do with what they like. The Peruvian government will have a say, the community will have a say and Alta"s shareholders will have their say.  That is the area of public relations the 4 directors are working in.  I can"t imagine what kind of a public relations team Fortesque will have.

Now we have some disgrunteled shareholders.  If no decent takeover bid from Fortesque is forthcoming an outside bid will be met with approval.

Seeing that Fortescue has already 2 people placed on the board, how ...more

From the Jun 30 NR re: the voting results.  It is expecvted the 4 directors wil offer their resignations.  Next the companies board of directors will vote, with the resigning directors abstaining from the vote to decide if the 4 resigning directors will stay.  Fortesque's reasons for withholding their vote will be considered whether to accept the resignations or not. This is to ...more
