future minining in peru
the current government is (suprisingly) pro mining and so are many potential contenders for the next elections - just a reminder of the last and for next election:

The challenges due to climate change will have tremendous impacts on local rural communities like San Juan, that will struggle to make a living out of subsistence farming and will be looking for financial means to allow them to live their lives. it is clear also that climate change will accelerate, the needed global consensus to slow it down does not exist.
I am confident there will be a time this project will be build - maybe not in 2024 anymore, but I can wait.
