The options and total comp trough

Rsu,dsu, options, whatever. All are created to tie a large chunk of management comp to the performance of the stock price. Which is the ultimate report card. Suck it up kids, all ceos and senior mgmt at all oil companies, and all other companies are compensated the same way. If we do well, they do well. Simple. Now human nature is such that when the stock is getting creamed it's because all mgmt teams are idiots and should be fired. But WHOA! When it's going up,up,up it's because I'm a genius for buying the stock and I deserve a 4 or 5 bagger while management are just overpaid parasites. That about right? If you begrudge the dumb@sses that run ATH a million or two, for god sake don't look at tesla,Amazon,Microsoft,Facebook, etc etc etc.  the richest people in the world owe their massive billions to "free" shares. Not because they bought stock in the market. That's hilarious. Just look at Elon musk's comp the last couple years. He's the richest man in the world AND he got one of if not the largest total comp packages on earth. We all sound ridiculous when we whine about comp. if you don't like it,  work harder, be smarter, and get their jobs instead of whatever you're doing now.

The big difference is, guys like Bezos and Musk have been able to deliver...big time as per the share price/market cap of the companies that they lead. I  have zero problem with generous compensation if a management team actually merits said compensation. The problem is that compensation oftentimes is overly generous regardless of performance. This isn't specifically a ATH issue ...more

And delivery looks like what to you? One of the worst routes in the petroleum industry of all time, which ATH faired much better than most predicted (looking back price targets from $ 0.05 to 0.25). and would hazard a guess better than most peers, thats delivery. I do not see this as a bad news story at all, and have been rewarded nicely with leveraging my  spreads from 9 years ago with some ...more

"being able to deliver" would look like share price appreciation (basically the reason why any of us would own this thing, since there is no dividend)... Don't get me wrong, if you been in the name for less than a year, you'd be doing just fine...Anything longer than that, not so much. Thats not opinion, thats just a fact. You can look at a long term chart and see the extent of ...more

From $10 to .10 cents nearing bankruptcy, that's absolute destruction. Omnibus incentive plan should not be passed. No talk of refinancing and they are taking about incentives. Lol Sometimes I just shake my head.

This is what Eric Nutall has described as CEO entrenchment! Yet Eric is holding this name in his fund. The reason is that Eric Sees value here deep value! I am in the same camp. Why do you ppl complain this was .10 and no one deserves compensation. This compensation practice is a corporate practice. A drop in the bucket. POHUJI! Management does not control the price of oil and they did an ...more

As good a job that this management did to "keep this girl afloat" with creative financing, they completely blew it on overspending at Hangingstone and letting Murphy go wild spending  at Duvernay / Montney. Overall , you are correct that executive compensation is just a drop in the bucket. We'll see how good these guys are shortly with the deal they make to refi or to merge the ...more

Eric bought the stock at .18 cents so no need to sell the stock, and he not going to tell u if he decides to .... just wait and see what the refiance brings... they still have time to make some deals... that will get them moving it the right direction ..
