Time to settle down
Time for crude to settle down near 70. Time for Ath to settle down. Big jumps fueled (pun intended) by penny flippers and day traders are okay but it's a 2 edged sword. A gradual long term accumulation by long term shareholders is what I'm looking forward to. That's how rich people invest I'm told, so let's do that!

Id be surprised if WTI doesn't settle down to around $66-68, and ATH to around .82 if that happens.

I keep checking to make sure it's real. It's been a great day, great week, great month, and a great year. Long way from 11. When they announce the refi is for half the bonds and at lower rates than current coupon, I might see an "unreal" day. The kind that makes me jitterish about not selling a little. But then I'll just go lay down until that feeling goes away. GLTA.

Profit booking is always good. What goes up always comes down . Granpa Max , remember the slogan . We are here for a million not hundreds or thousands . We are going to have a few years of oil bull market and the ride has just begun . I will probably sell 10% of my holding above 2$ and possibly in tranches after that. A few years of 100$ oil n this might go to 5 or 10$ too

I ain't selling one share. No sense giving the govt 25% of my profit. Diamond hands. Lol. $10 or bust.

My investments are through my small business holding company . So ,only capital gains paid only on 50% and i use the small business tax rate deduction .Tax planning is the key

TFSA is probably the most ideal account for holding these small cap energy investments. No taxes on the gains. Yes, i suppose if things had gone the other way, you wouldn't get your capital losses. However, luckily, things have worked out nicely the last year, and its extra sweet to not have to share any of it with the taxman.

Dude. Passive investments inside a Corp are taxed at the highest tax rate from dollar one. Active business income attracts the small business tax rate up to $500k.

From the 2019 tax year onward, certain Canadian Controlled Private Corporations (CCPCs) will have their small business limit reduced by $5.00 for every $1.00 of passive investment income that exceeds $50,000.
