If I was short I would not be sleeping well these days. On November 9th we hit $1.56  the 2 year high.  oil Nov 9th hit  $84.50 wti high of day.  differential on Nov 9th was ($20.15 ) low of day.   For a net $ 64.35 wcs 68.14 close  today oil hit 81.67 wit high of day. and differential is only ($12.29) low of day.  for a net 69.38. wcs  high

Just a matter of time, soon the shorts will be squeezed  and  we will see the breakout like BTE did in the last days, so just wait and look  the storm getting closer and closer.

Do we know the short positioning with regards to what prices they are betting on and the duration of the positions? I don't play options at all and stick to the stocks. Just looking to learn abit more on the traders betting against us.

The "short" answer is no. Pun intended. Short answers are no fun. Short selling is not like options. In fact there are no options available for ATH because the price is below the threshold.  You'll need to google short selling or try investopedia to explain how it works.
