Why are meg and countless other company’s PE 3x Ath?

It just seems like Ath needs to move up into the 4s and quickly to be trading at fair value to its peers. Any thoughts on the disparity that exists in the stock trading world? Or is PE not the end all and be all for oil stocks?

Oil stocks trade at multiples to cash flow.

So what's headwater's secret. It's trading 11x cash flow and we are 3?
Comment by Quickdraw123 on Aug 13, 2023 9:34am
Headwater share count is less than half of ATH but wait until Q3 numbers and announcement of 0 debt. Hopefully people jump on the bandwagon and we get to $6.  Look at Baytex P/E ratio, it's nuts.

Even before the trouble that the pandemic caused ATH. The company was barely treading water. This company basically had a near death experience.  Not too long ago..  When I find myself expecting too much  or getting anxious about this stocks movement. These are the points I rely on. To make sense of it all

I believe the one thing that ATH could do to bury its near-death history is to announce it is debt-free. I would even go as far as saying if they had to pay penalty interest to payout the outstanding debt that the market would give an immediate bump in SP. It would also put the run on shorts which I believe have hurt ATH's SP advance over the past year and a half. ATH will get ...more

Yes, I agree. Control is King. Not cash. Control. But the little remaining teenager in me, would love to see a small special divvy.
Comment by cahclick on Aug 13, 2023 11:36am
Yup, part of me wants ATH to declare a huge one-time divy to all shareholders on record as of 12 months ago to reward the shareholders for supporting the company through shaky times. I know, I know, it's a pipe dream but would definitely give credit where due.

Huh?  OGInvest0r you say We?  Have you been here a while or are you just trying to soft bash like the other Village Idiots that show up a week ago?  Lets just look at the 1 year performances of the 2 companies you are trying to compare and pump while bashing ATH.................. HWX 1 year performance % = 22.59% MEG 1 year performance % = 37.69 % ATH 1 year performance % = 58.90 %

Good call I did a quick comparison this am and if you do just YTD it shows an even more bullish pattern. In fact all the companies I compared it to they were tops YTD, which included large and small companies. Could'nt find abetter one guys! GLTA

I started nibbling away at 26 cents during the pandemic and have averaged up to 2.20 so yes I can safely use "we" and no I am not a shorter or village idiot. I am losing questions that get responses like this and creating a fulsome discussion from which everyone can benefit.
Comment by OGInvest0r on Aug 13, 2023 7:21pm
Posing not losing... sorry I'm on a darn iPhone.
Comment by Maxmoe on Aug 13, 2023 9:33pm
Typo Doesn't matter. It's a pile of FUD anyway. "Posing questions to encourage a fulsome discussion " while simultaneously boring us with a pump on meg and Hwx is almost the definition of FUD. Sorry , I'd say woody nailed it.

You're right. He's been a SH member for a full week. Such innocent slander. Good call Max
Comment by woodsmen on Aug 13, 2023 11:13pm
Lol.  Yah okay OGInvest0r cuz everyone surely startts to ask questions when they "Started Nibbling" at .26 cents in 2020 and it is now up to $3.75 in 2023  makes great sense.    Beat it you Village Idiot  you ain't fooling me!!!   Welcome to Stockhouse!!!

Ok Bye. Back to lurking for me.
Comment by Maxmoe on Aug 14, 2023 12:16pm
You can always try another board. Maybe CJ ? Oh, wait, Oopsy. "I've been lurking for a while here but invested in CJ heavily since 2022. I'm growing more concerned with performance as of late. Any thoughts on the next catalyst or why this is no longer tracking oil?"
