as much as I don't like seeing them changing the pipe size  , I'm glad they will finally finish that project .

"as much as I don't like seeing them changing the pipe size  , I'm glad they will finally finish that project" . BLACKJACK86   It's my understanding they are reducing the pipe diameter significantly.  Any idea on how much reduction in BPD flow of product?  I'm no P.Eng but methinks it definitively will be significant no doubt.

Apparently, The volume will not change. The pipe diameter will be reduced to 30" from 36". So a six inch reduction. However, they will be increasing the pressure through that 2 kilometre section of pipe just after Hope BC, and maintain the volume. The regulators initial concern was weather the smaller diameter pipe proposed can handle the additional pressure. LN

Start "Twilight Zone" music and repeat question above. Things that just make you say "huh" Have a good weekend all. Back at'er Monday ...more

Thanks for posting this Z. I assumed it was a trench not a borehole. My bad for sure. So, although the CER approved the smaller diameter borehole, it appears the risk remains that the rock could fracture and the borehole be flooded causing the same setback as they fear for the larger borehole.  To me it seems odd that they would leave this difficult segment to the end rather than ...more
