My debit spread on GILD expires today (500 calls 50$ long against 500 calls 62.5$ short) nets 625k  + about 220k from 60$ put contracts, nets 1,072k CAD.

Yes I am lining up to climb to 600,000 shares.

Because of the options trading (I taught derivatives at the graduate level), my net cost on the GILD spread (value of 12.5$) is about 4$ which was funded by selling Exxon 35$ puts in March and October. Unbelievable it is.

The "bible" is Options as a strategic investment by Lawrence MacMillan.  It was recommended to me over 20 years ago by a colleague who later established the graduate program in financial engineering at our university. Ernie (poweropt.com) has some good videos on YouTube and an excellent website that covers US stocks (volume is meager on CAD stocks and the bid ask spread makes no sense in comparison to the US market).
