Atkinsrealis Group Inc > I think I’ve seen this play before

I think I’ve seen this play before

- Extrememely undervalued company with good revenue
- Great assets....what engineering CEO would not want their hands on Atkins
- Tight range bound stock price over period of time...creates low x-day moving average....frustrates current shareholders who will take anything like a 25%-35% increase over their already undervalued share price...manipulatated no doubt.
- Take all the massive $ hits in one swoop last quarter.
- Unload unwanted divisions and associated big costs.
- BOD and Management working on compensation game plan for golden parachutes since they will not be needed in new entity.
- Limited recent public market buys by management...was surprised by the 2 or 3 executives buys a few months ago but they were so small and insignificant not sure that matters...especially 2 or 3 quarters from now.
- Push some good news stories and a few decent quarters
- Massive industry growth where size matters for big $ projects

Folks, I think we are going to be taken over this year....they are trying to keep price tight so that we are not "in play" too soon. Thoughts? Am I in the twi-light zone? Good luck, Rookie

With a huge amount of money pouring into infrastruture and a cleaner and meaner SNC, it's a possiblity for a takeover/merger. Could it be an US firm that need to bulk up in size?

Cette option est aussi dans mes reflexions.

Unfortunately I don't believe the Provincial or Federal governments, and also majority shareholders, would ever let a foreign entity take over such a long standing Canadian co (130+ years old I belive). Plus the French (Canadian) are stubborn and have too much pride.  Will always be Quebec owned and that's where the HQ will always be. I would like a quick exit through an ...more

Agreed  SNC will never be sold to foreign interests.. well can't say never but .. Don't think that WSP could absorb SNC at this point Pandemic will be behind us here in Canada this summer... sp can only go straight up from here

CDPQ did let go Bombardier Rail to Alstom and Bombardier CS Series to Airbus. The commitment was to maintain the jobs. What is left of Bombardier is a shadow of what it was. Besides the CDPQ hold 19.9% of the shares and will trade its position in shares of the acquiring firm. Dessau (1,400 employees) was sold to Stantec. BPR (1,600 employees) was sold to Tetratech. SNC has about 3,400 ...more

Thanks for the feedback folks! Ya, holding and staying the course for a couple of years will net us a lot more $...but those visions of a soon-to-be big gain on takeover or merger dance in my head! ....gotta keep my head on the long term game plan but the recent stock activity and management actions just scream the obvious to me! I agree that the Quebec factor will play a big part in the road ...more

My guess is that the Quebec province or the Federal government will "NEVER" allow SNC be sold off to another company.  Too much history here of over 100 years with SNC and more importantly this is one of the last "crown jewels"  in "la belle  province".   No way any politician in that province would ever let SNC be let go to either another ...more

Hey Ron, I might not be up-to-speed on the company news but I thought SNC was free to leave Quebec in 2024 after they pay off their loan to the Caisse for the Atkins purchase...I believe Quebec government did not want to help SNC "directly" when they were struggling a few years ago..Canadian government would not want them leaving the country but what is stopping the company legally etc.. ...more

Rookie your  2024 expiry dates are correct and I factored that in as well when I posted my comment.    I still say the Quebec provincial and federal governments will not let SNC be sold off when the time comes regardless of who is in power in 2024.   There is a lot more to SNC staying in Canada than most people realize.   With SNC's worst days behind it and the ...more

Comment by finalstep on Apr 24, 2021 9:11pm

Big target on us now. Still extremely undervalued company with good revenue and prospects that has regained profitability status, has manageable debt., great assets and good ratios makes for a much easier sell to acquiring company shareholders...like I said a month ago, SNC will be sold by year end. All the bad news is behind. Big hits taken last quarter. Unwanted divisions and associated costs ...more

Tick...tick....tick...stay strong...WSP takeover in play no doubt as I have said a few times before and I'm sure negotiations (aka Golden Parachutes for our CEO for hire Mr. Edwards and team) are almost complete pending Q2 and maybe Q3 results and closed SNC action items to confirm final buyout price....players keeping the price tight...Q2 brings us to next tight range and then possible news ...more
