Aritzia can begin buying back shares Jan. 22, and the buyback period expires on Jan. 21 of next year.

The Canadian women's fashion retailer said the Toronto Stock Exchange approved its plan to buy back up to 3.5 million of its subordinate voting shares for cancellation.

In the first weeks of 2023, the stock has risen nearly 24%, closing on Wednesday at 33.98 Canadian dollars ($25.16), but remains down about 24% over the last 52 weeks.

At Wednesday's closing price, the value of the shares would be worth about C$119.5 million.
