Comment on Ucore vs. Avalon

As a very long term investor in UCore I was impressed by their commentary on Rare Earth issues;but I found that Ucore had a highly marginal RE resource and great support from Senator Murkowski and the Alaska State government. Recently thanks to Stockhouse I came upon Avalon Advanced Materials Inc. T.AVL Alternate Symbol(s): AVLNF which has a Sizeable RE deposit which is supported by a bankable feasibility study. Avalon to me makes more sense as an investment than does UCore. In any event good luck to all investors

What I personally find interesting is that both Ucore and AVL are collaborating with Vital Metals which is the first and only rare earth producer in Canada. https://investorintel.com/markets/technology-metals/technology-metals-intel/vital-metals-rare-earths-off-take-mou-with-ucore-positions-vital-as-a-key-supplier-for-a-non-chinese-total-rare-earths-supply-chain/ https://investorintel.com/markets ...more

I don't recognize "bankable" as having any tangible financial meaning. What do you mean by "bankable"? .

It is a term of art in the financial community which means it is the highest quality feasibilty study that can be produced. AVL holds a rare earth deposit that is of the highest quality with a report on it that is of the highest quality. That feasibility statement can literally be taken to a bank to solicit funding. Hence the name.  China's rare earth business scheme has been to price ...more

A note of caution then. I've worked in a mine-finance analysis group, and this word was never used by us. From the company's perspective, the published FS is a tool for use in attracting financing. The full spectrum of feasibility work is far more extensive than what an investor is permitted to see. The financial community is, in general, not qualified to assess technical reports; you ...more

Thanks for that. The ones I am familiar with were produced by -if my memory is correct- Tetra Tech and they were reputed to be as sophisticated as the reports are suggested to be.  When it comes to rare earths -there is a lot of smoke blowing- read UCORE-- as to the content of the deposit of rare earths.  I'm gonna have to go read this one to see if Joe McGillacuddy produced it or ...more

deposits are nice..But they are much better if someday you start digging for them and get them out of the ground. 30 years now AVL hasn;t produced not one gram of anything. I agree  speculation alone is enough to make us all rich in this case with AVL - as it happened back in 2011-- , but  it would be much better if someday they would produce  something..

Nechalacho is already being digged by Vital Metals/Cheetah. The big wheel has already turned a bit. AVL still owns the basal zone and continues exploring and development projects in Nechalacho.
