Absolutely insane

Powell should not be tanking things this late in the cycle.  And oil couldn't care less... market crashes 1000 points oil will go up

I'm starting to fear that there may be no choice but to deliberately cause a deep recession to get inflation and interest rates under control. Current interest rates are already too high for government budgets once their debt needs to be refinanced. Entitlement spending, green/clean energy policy, greater focus on equity/income redistribution,... The future is going to be more expensive with ...more

Macklen is in a bind, but he brought it on himself by assuring Canadians that interest rates would remain near zero for the foreseeable future, one of the most irresponsible statements in Canadian history.    Justin Trudeau took that as gospel and spent like a drunken sailor, leaving us with a huge federal debt.  And he keeps digging the hole deeper ... $30B about to be wasted on ...more

BabyBunny- thats what Ive been saying. Core has barely budged while headline follows GAS which is now decoupled from hikes.    They cant even prove hikes are doing much but continue to pound sand. At least prove it with charts and data.   Obviously 0-2% rates are stimulative, but should have gone to 4-4.5% and chill there.  Bit above neutral
