In absence of a powell flush...

Artis will likely be buying back units about 0.10-0.15 higher every week the NCIB runs.  The wall street traders see whats going on, easy to buy as well and bid it up knowing therell be able to sell those units into the NCIB at $7.00 in a few months and possibly higher

You do cite a valid danger:  that traders consider a completed NCIB a fait accompli, that they foresee upward price pressure as a result, and that they pile in at the early stages for easy profits, forcing Artis to pay more for the repurchased units. Game theory suggests the best remedy for this is for Samir to appear inconsistent, incoherent, and irrational, while in fact adhering to an ...more
