HERE COMES MANJI READY TO MOVE ON COOPA
Comment by REITman on Jun 18, 2024 6:58pm
Wait a second, doesn't Michael Cooper still own about a million shares more than Artis?  It seems to me Artis will have to keep gobbling up D.UN units for another year or so before achieving parity.    A move on Cooper may be in the offing, but it will be in the far offing.

Its not a question of who has more shares, if the retail investors side with manji in any attempt, the total share count will be > drm

I don't like Manji's chances if he starts a battle for D.UN a million units in the hole. I'd much rather he build a 25% position to improve the chance of success AND keep total cost down (units acquired in the open market will tend to be cheaper than those bought through a tender offer). I think a Manji/Cooper JV is a real possibility (after further gradual accumulation buy bith) with a significant premium offered to buy out diehard minirity shsreholders to take it private.  I.e. a double from here.

Do we know the new percentage that Artis owns directly by themselves in Dream Office and does Artis still own a sizeable position in First Capital? Maybe Artis should start buying Dream Unlimited (DRM) where they own a part of several of the Dream entities. What is the end game here-consolidation and sell assets at or near full value to reduce leverage? Is Artis just holding public REITS to flip ...more

Happy to help.  I have Artis direct ownership of Dream Office at 13.55% (https://x.com/alphafortuna10/status/1802807625169449341?s=46) As at Q1 Artis still held FCR. Artis buying DRM is nonsensical imho. End game possibility for D - see Cominar. For FCR - no idea. Suffering is more painful when you don't understand what you own and the management direction. I would strongly ...more

Thank you Frankie10..nice to see some thoughtful discussion here every once and a while. I'll check out the discussion on X . I do believe that better days are ahead and that we will have more tailwinds then headwinds and until then I'm willing to wait and willing to keep buying when things are on sale imho.. GLTA.
