heartbreaking. You buy an overpriced illiquid asset that's expensive to maintain in a frothy market...... It sucks for the individuals concerned, but a correction is good for millennials and genZ who are frozen out of the property ladder without the bank of mom and dad. My real estate exposure apart from primary residence is all REITs in different sectors.

The only thing heartbreaking is just how incompetent Canadians are. Everyone I know is a real estate agent, expert, or guru - yet nobody understands the significance between a cap rate and borrow cost. This country is unwell - physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. One member on this board is a perfect example of all of the above.
