yes precious metals was the only safe haven

BUT this stock has been decimated by SHORTS

i bought this in Feb, thinking the pain was over

We have all experienced some pain since Jan, but you have to lower your average cost while you can. I personally added a lot over the last 30 days , so I can wait for the recovery. It should be WELL worth it. I invest for doubles or triples over 2-3 years and am convinced this is one of those kind of investments, along with energy stocks.
