not sure...depends on what they got for them . Early rumor was BB would ssell up to half of their 38000 patents. So not sure the sale of 90 patents is material.

As I said in an earlier post why not spin off patterns and messaging to a new company and reward shareholders? Seems Chen blew the treasury on Cylance. Didn't they have 3 billion in cash a few years ago? What increase and profits and revenues to show for that 3 billion?

Just wondering how other Canadians view this transaction. Huawei. Meng Wanzhou. China. Michael Kovrig. Michael Spavor. If there was a tiny, tiny thought of me re-entering BB it was just tossed under a bus. No wonder every news report BB appears like a dumpster fire.

I'm gathering if investors are buying shares in bb to build future equity then they're happy with this move.

As far as I'm concerned Chen and Co. flipped a bird at Canadians with this deal. Shame on Watsa!

Data from the US Patent and Trademark Office, or USPTO, shows that BlackBerry transferred ownership of the patents to Huawei on Dec. 23. They represent a small portion of BlackBerry’s wealth of 38,000 patents, but include many significant claims dating back to when it was the world. leading smartphone maker to protect the intellectual property around its handheld devices.
