Revenue decline

2017 - 1,309 2018 - 932 2019 - 904 2020 - 1040 ( bought cylance with annual run rate of 210) 2021- 893 2022 - Chen's anticipated revenue 775-815 I didn't even bring up the first four years worth of revenue declines as its too depressing. YASCH will say the revenue decline is due to the handsets and service access fee. Well, John chen said he could save the company in 18 months and he failed. Whats more the number here are after blackberry stopped making phones. My prediction for 2023 is 615 in revenue. 2024 will be 550 and so forth.

No Yasch, Blackberry stopped making phones in 2016. So for you to suggesting their revenue decline is attributed to the handset division selling fewer phones is false. The fact is cylance business has declined and software and services has been in decline for years.

Yasch, John has been at the helm of Blackberry for 7.5 years. Excluding the year blackberry bought cylance have overall revenues grown? Answer no. Now I know you like to point out software growth. Well, why don't you look at the software and service division and exclude licensing and tell every how much they have grown over the past few years. Simply put they haven't. The idea that you ...more

Yasch why are you glossing over the fact that their core business is not growing. How much of the software and services revenue came by way of acquisitions? 300 million? The fact remains in the 7.5 years since he has taken the helm the overall revenue has declined inspite of his promised 18 month turn around.

And after all the years with Chen leading the company All the announcements partnerships patent wins acquisitions we still sit at or below the price Watsa offered. I find this extremely odd that this stock cannot gain real traction?

Yasch, A turnaround implies you begin to grow again because if you are not growing you are dying. Blackberry has not grown in the last 7.5 years and every stock holder would have been better offer with that 9US stock offer. Those are the facts. The reality is Chen has done very little at growing the business. Lets look at the licensing division. The vast majority of the patents were there when he ...more

They’ve gone from 20M installations in cars to 175M in the last decade....and momentum is growing ....and growing fast.  They are the O/S standard in the industry. cylance has been leverage to build a strong suite of new advanced products and the need for the products (embedded with AI/Machine learning) are just becoming more and more clear. Furthering, to increase the QNX 's stickness, the innovation fund is coming into the picture to develop the APP with the AWS partnership. The app will differentiate QNX as the data platform from other existing or future potential competitors.  JC is the architect of all the strategies laid out. Let's see how they work out. Next 2/3 years are very crucial. Hope all goes well.
