BlackBerry Ltd > Patent sale......bad idea

Patent sale......bad idea

While many shareholders believe selling off the bulk of Blackberry's IP is a good
idea.....history says No. If you look at the past eight years under Chen's leadership,
the only thing Wall Street demands is strong revenue growth....something promised
years ago but never happens. So what do you think will happen to the share price
when annual revenue of $200 million is no longer on the books. And WS doesn't
reward company's with idle cash either....

One would hope the new found money could be plowed into an existing company
with a revenue stream, but Chen's performance with Cylance has been nothing short
of a train wreck. Not sure why everyone praises this guy.....its always next quarter
we fly to the moon. The analysts will have a field day with the reduction in revenue.
Kinda makes you think....its the long term plan under this CEO & BOD's

Totally agree, especially if he sold them to the Chinese Communists! Not everyone is a fan of Chen including me.

This revenue is a burden for BlackBerry, and one of the last things holding it back from breaking free from it's former business model. Yes it generates revenue, but it's peanuts to what the future could hold. BlackBerry needs to sell these so it has access to the capital it needs to fully commit to it's new business. To focus on the new, you need to cut ties with the past. Your short ...more

Short sighted??? I've been waiting for over 10 years for Chen to get his act together! The Shareprice over the last ten years says it all. Wrong guy for the job!

Wow, really? 10 years?..   1. April 9, 2011 the share price closed at $54.78. If you failed to see the writings on the wall back then, that's a lesson learned. 2. Chen was first hired in November 2013. 3. You made you account on January 30, 2021, 3-days after the peak of the WSB rally... You're full of $hit. But yes, I agree it has taken a long a$$ time to turn this ship around. I ...more

Sometimes I wonder if more than a very few here consider that JC, PW, TE and other BB 'in the know' folks are seasoned and successful professionals... Chen is by any reasonable measure a master chess tactician. I realize no one makes me visit, but Pray aka Nelly, Yasch and a couple others make it worthwhile so thank you. The old saying is, 'know why and what you own while blocking out ...more

KBB', mischaracterize my words if you must. Makes me wonder about those charts of yours.  If you are in fact a BlackBerry investor, I suggest selling and exit or try to refrain from self-sabotage. That is unless a short disguised as disgruntled bull.  Chen no doubt is hyper aware of his missteps, as well as the imperfect road of BlackBerry past... including at least a few regrettable ...more
