Strange how this news was out a couple of days ago but this official PR isa dated today. Also, it appears that this news release is from Black Sesame, not BB. Why hasn't BB released this news, because it's definitely significant.

Digs...thought I'd just missed it somehow. Looks good early but should we be wary of some shorting shenanigans?  Good news makes a stock easier to sell JMO. Has the PR dept been muzzled and if so why?

Always forgetting stuff. PR says the chip is for Chinese ev but isn't this the same company that provides chip for Tesla? My two good thoughts for this BB news item blackout is that either Musk is going to endorse BB ev tech or actually commit to BB. Wishful thinking, we're not throwing it in Elon's face, let the chipmaker do it, remain neutral. BB ev tech vs Tesla's in China maybe ...more

....is this news not MATERIAL??? how come no NR??? strange..dwdc PS..BB trading in one of the tightest trading ranges i've seen in awhile..makes me think news is a coming...

dwdc, it sure feels like there's news coming. As much as I want the patent news, I'm hoping it's big news about IVY or a cybersecurity contract with th US government.

On ST, firelake4 states that "as Dugstr2 astutely pointed out, Black Sesame is partly owned by Bosch." He then points out that "Bosch in-car integrated solutions are built on BlackBerry QNX Neutrino RTOS & QNX Hypervisor with BlackBerry IVY support" and provides this link: bbin.in/2021/12/bosch-in-ca... This link has a paragraph: "Further options available on ...more

MortonDeath202110:54 AM $BB So Black Sesame has QNX power it’s new chipset and Tesla will have Black Sesame power it’s new non-death machine autonomous vehicles? Is that right? Wow. Cool. Can you say 25/25? 1 1 11    ...more

Things are slow so .....Just checking out some stuff and just fanning the flames of patent sale/purchaser. Black Sesame as recent as last Sept received an investment injection from a Beijing based electronics company and one of China's largest, Xiaomi. Their market cap is approx $473bn and the amount of investment is classified but said to be worth hundreds of millions. In fact at the time ...more

Hedge, Chen has said the patents are "non-core" and the purchaser is a North American entity so not sure how our EV products/services fit in this scenario. However, we still could be doing a deal with Tesla and selling the "non-core" patents as 2 separate transactions. BTW, I think Musk has stated that he's not interested in phones as he thinks the future is in direct ...more

Thanks Fog.... read so many things. See the word potential and partial a lot. Read where companies in US were banned from dealing with Xiaomi not too long ago but that has been rescinded according to what I read. Not going to discount the chance of a NA patent buyer with other parties involved. Who knows 3rd, 4th, as many parties as it takes to not only obtain the whole package but once yours ...more

Digs, fwiw from another who doesn't post on ST but does keep up with their contributors who matter... I don't find it all that farfetched to connect these dots as possibly leading to the big kahuna. God knows these fellers from automotive know a fair amount about their competition, as well as those they're partnered with. What BB has may be a secret of sorts to many on the two streets  ...more

Full disclosure, I didn't watch the video so respect your analysis of its contents. Hoping that news of the patent sale and/or a deal with #25 comes soon. Waiting for some patent news is like waiting for the end of Covid....we're all getting tired.

A scenario where the patent sale and infringement settlement are down at the bottom of a very lucrative list was something I never considered but I like it, I like it a lot.

Hedge, we are thinking along the same lines. I think you're correct about a relationship between Black Sesame and Tesla, so this may be an early sign that Tesla may be moving towards BB. I know it's wishful thinking, but as you said, let someone else break it to Musk that BB is the way to go.
