Mercedes Benz developing own software
According to this article in the German "Spiegel" today, MB is hiring 3000 software developers globally, to add to the 1100 they have already working at their base near Stuttgart. Investment so far 200 million Euros. Eventually, they'll have 10,000 software specialists employed, many of them in India, China and the US. They realize they have fallen behind, but state that they aim to be at the very top when it comes to self-driving cars. Their Chief Technology Officer says that "as far as software is concerned, the car is the most complicated product". Technical challenges in the coming years are the electrification and digitization of the car, but they see huge potential. They're betting on their own operating system called MB.OS. My question to this community is: Does anyone know, where does this leave BlackBerry?
