The IVY Innovation Fund is essentially a secure filter for any Open Source applications. “Security must be engrained in the company— not bolted on at the end.” Linux OS (open platform used by Tesla) will never become safety certified for autonomous driving (ASIL D) due to it’s magnitude and they’d have to retroactively go through all the code in order to patch/secure/safety certify which, aside from time lost, would in turn negate it being “open source.” lose-lose.
