Blackstone, Gates moving into private jet operations

One would have to think that the pandemic would see a surge in private jet sales and operations, always watch where the big guys are putting their money, this will be good for Bombardier

The worry for investors is not the market potential for private jets, this sector and BA will do well. The concern is whether management will roll us under the bus by either a reverse split or going private for 30% more than the current price so +/- 65¢. In both scenarios any investor over a $2 will likely never break even.

that worry will subside once the Alstom money is applied to the debt , I believe that is what the retail investor is waiting for , only then  can the company look for long term financing for the remaining debt... positive news coming for sure ... GLTA

I would like to be as optimistic, but the family will always put themselves ahead of any B shareholder. We are at the bottom of the ladder. Even after applying the Alstrom cash towards the debt, the remainder owing is still too large to service and the risk of share restructure remains very high. BBD management's integrity and transparency has been less than stellar these last 5 years ...more

your concerns are legitamit  and you are not alone but if the family wanted to steal the company from the shareholders they would have done so by now  . The family has always worked with the govts (and their croonies) and will continue to do so , that is why they need a public company , and having control of such a company through then "a" shares is a dream come true for them . ...more

Bicente, i'm happy to hear this, that you admit that the company did lie to the shareholders Cause i said also a few times in the past that they did so, and this has hurted them deeply, and they know it too!

Alstom share price stable this week around 48 (47-49). At that share price, I figure there is a US$200M windfall for Bombardier if they exercise their option to buy back CDPQ (and thus gain the Alstom shares), $300M @50, 400M at 52.50 and 500M at 55. IMO, Alstom has a good chance to rise (ceteris paribus) as it trades at somewhat of a discount to peers (eg Siemens?) and is relatively closely held. ...more

bicente, yes, every one is waiting to see how bbd will hadle long term debt and if they will get better refinancing what i was wondering about, how bbd will pay (let us say $4.5 billion) one shut while the debt is spread over years (2021 to 2034),  unless it is permited, there will penalities to pay before maturity, no!!!
Comment by bicente on Jan 08, 2021 11:21am
financing is not a death sentence , a contract is a contract until it is broken or renegotiated ..covid 19 has changed many things ... there is talk about reverse mortgages and that has a concrete effect on negotiations where financing is readily available , I've seen a 10 year lease that has been  renegotiated after just 14 months , that was never seen before this pandemic ... the bomber ...more

So with is speculation of yours what does the bbd.a shares be worth ? Your speculation is plus or minus 30% ? .
Comment by flamingogold on Jan 08, 2021 10:48am
Sorry, that +/- 30% premium over 50¢ should read as a 30% premium give or take a few percentage pts... not -30% of course. As a B shareholder I am hoping for neither a R/S or private takeover but we are at the mercy of a person with less than a stellar record for integrity and transparency.
Comment by Willy2k on Jan 08, 2021 11:06am
Ok thats what i thought . So why do ppl or investors want to buy the bbd.a shares ? Wouldnt it be a better choice ? Especially if the rumors are true ? The family or major holders still seem to be making lots of money there losses prob just tax reasons lol . I doubt the government will ever let it go private lets face it the bomber is canada

I don't know if family after losing billions in their own A shares will buy themselves the entire company to take control while they are already controlling it with only 15% ownership. While the family will gain 100% ownership by going private they will have to come up with additional financing to buy out rest of the A and B shares. They will be still on the hook for the current debt, plus ...more
