pretty much ... things could have been different if Canada wanted to build a better rail system or backed the bomber up with purchases like all other govts have done around the world .. It was clear to me that BT was going to be a thing of the past when the REM trains were not coming from the bomber , now that there is an east end additional investment of  $ 10 Billion  it could have ...more

Again Bicente Anyone would have been out of his mind to have given the contract to Bombardier considering the financial state it was in.   Would have made no business sense  neither for the governments or the banks. The quebec economy is still getting a good portion of the REM contract though not in Rail. Rail portion is 2,2 billion cdn for the cars or about 30% of the contract.  ...more

Again... so why are other govts buying from bombardier then ???  ... something went terribly wrong between our govts and the bomber and that is why the bomber wasn't going to get any more money or contracts HENCE why they sold to Alstom ...please look at the facts from your link , there is no mention of Bombardier providing trains for the REM , and this link does not have the  NEW ...more

I didn't say that the bomber was providing rail even though they did quote. I believe the decison was made in 2018  (not sure) the rail contract was worth 2.2 billion of the 6.3 billion or so at the time. SNC's portion I believe was 600 million and the rest for infrastructure  Big difference supplying units and service to private operators than supplying massive costly rail ...more
