Bombardier Inc. > As we approach February 11th

As we approach February 11th

As we get closer to February 11th, the day of the 4th quarter financials, the share price should increase. Expectations are unusually high, that enthusiasm I suggest should propel the stock to around 77 cents on the morning before the presentation.

If all goes as we hope, the day after, February 12th should see a surge. How high is anyone’s guess, but with the steps taken to cut costs and restructure, my sense is that we are going to be on a ride that will be remembered for quite some time. 2021 & 2022 should be very exciting for shareholders after all the abuse taken in the past, poor management decisions that almost bankrupted the company.

we (long bbd) are hoping so last two years were very long, dark and difficult
Comment by Shamhorish on Feb 01, 2021 2:12pm
for today, they are keeping share price at yesterday close/ today open price while higher price is expcted on 11 feb so, may be there are some huge buying orders at low price (0.55-.58) so the market trying to execute those order for thier prefered customer by dropping price in expectation of higher price on feb 11th and then they can sell and cash in $$$$$$ may be they intend to drop it lower ...more

The momentum that we saw few weeks is gone, deal closing didn't increase sp either. I don't know how q4 will be. Some are optimistic and some are not. For so many quarterly reports bombardier has disappointed us. I am long and unfortunately i think it will be a long time before we see some significant improvement in sp. All I hope is for bombardier to not bleed anymore in 2021. They have ...more

I have kept my stake in Bombardier because of the steps management has taken, believing in the the cut cutting approach, that the restructuring would revitalize the company and make it profitable going forward. My perspective hasn't changed, I remain confident in my decision.

We don't know how BA generated the $375M (200M+interest+prefs) in Q4 - could be increased backlog, could be high EBIT, could be something else that came thru on the balance sheet (reduced inventory) or a combination.  In any event, its my opinion that the best catalyst for the share price atm is a big convertible share issue eg $1.8B USD @2.5% with a US$1 conversion price (a premium on ...more

Pablo. The share issue is what killed us the last time back in 2018. That issue came in spring 2018. By fall of 2018 the shorting started. Look, they have some cash to cover some extra interest payments for the next couple of years, and can bring down the maturing debt in the next couple of years. Hope EBIT of BA can cover 3/4 of the extra interest payment carried in 2020/21. Worse come to worse ...more

859, these are the reasons: #1, we know how they operated the past 5-7 years with too much debt - both visible and not - and see how that turned out. #2, at 4.7B, that's too much debt for BA considering the other "liabilities" generally - if the company was 100% owned by a very rich rational businessperson, he wouldn't operate the company that way - he would bring the debt down.  ...more

Instead, we have a proud, stubborn and arrogant family running the show. The family is unwilling to lose control, and they are unwilling to put any more money in. They will attempt to carry on as is until they are absolutely forced to do othewise. However, that time may be imminent. A lot depends on how receptive the bond market is to sub 5% loans. In my opinion, they need to roll the near term ...more

"They want to retain control and aren't willing to put more money in" - truer words have not been spoken. However in fairness, when you dig into the family ownership, its Beaudier Inc that made all the money on BRP, the rest (3/4) of the family has been left holding the BBD bag like the rest of us. The TD analyst report was too bullish.  They don't go out on a limb these ...more
