80k not outrageous considering that some teachers make over 100k with summer months off.

If they live in Quebec; of 80000$ they earn, they will keep 50304$ after paying fed and prov income taxes. When they decide to spend what they could keep, they will have to pay a provincial sales tax of 9.975% on top of the GST 5 %. So 80000$ a year for the kind of job they do is not extravagant.

Remember..that is the average salary with an average bonus of 5k..   Not extravagant at all , The benefits I am sure are quite generous comparatively speaking. What is interesting to check out is to look at the employee opinions that you will find on some recruitment sites where there is quite a bit of belly aching going on with regards to layoffs and itchbeing of management.     ...more
