Tepid forecast

I think a lot of high-growth investors may be a bit disappointed with Martel's comments about post-2022 demand and subsequently, production, concluding that the inevitable down cycle may arrive then.  Hard to justify a resumption of the big move up in stk price without continued euphoria.

A stable growing business with state-of-the -art products and top-of-the-line service to accompany their products is what the goal is ... and the bomber will deliver ... GLTA

It's the amount and tenor of that growth that will likely have a lot of high-growth folks continuing to exit/avoid. Increased stability that has eluded Bomber til now will be nice, just not the stuff of continued rapid stock price increases.
Comment by clubhouse19 on Dec 14, 2021 11:56am
Why you don't include the elimination of the debt as part of the equation is beyond me. You are comparing apple to oranges, if there was no debt as of today, what do you think the SP should be ?    Who are those high growth folks you mention ?? Hedgefunds ?? Short sellers  ?? Daytraders ?? It is targetted now by those high growth entitities now because of the situation the ...more

Playing it safe rather than whole hog as done by previous management knowing whre it got the company to is IMO the right thing at this stage.    Looks like his continued practice to underpromise and if you look at the reports I just posted, the upside to private jets is positive,  Besides, covid is with us for years especially in the developing world where it will take years to ...more

Remember, this is an under promise and over deliver strategy. This builds confidence and trust. Bellemare was all smoke and mirrors, over promising and under delivering which destroyed investor trust.
Comment by Truthifest on Dec 14, 2021 11:26am
That's a wonderful thing to earn, but insufficient for those current and prospective investors looking for high growth.  They need, well, high growth.  That's not what post-2022 feels like.  So I expect some if not most of that money to exit.
Comment by BBDB859 on Dec 14, 2021 12:05pm
Truth, I suspect that some of what you're saying about the high growth inveters pulling out, and fast money investors exiting, to be true. But if I were investing in the new Bombardier, I'd be looking for more of a steady growth stock over a longer term growth SP. The fast growth without foundation, pie in the sky Bombardier, is what got us into this heavy debt to start with. I'd ...more

In another life, I was a commercial lender.  Slow, steady, well-controlled growth is what we wanted.  Given Bomber's large amount of debt, it's no surprise Martel is prioritizing that over high-growth equity upside.   It's now much clearer which type of investor this stock will attract and/or retain, and with it, the potential upside.  I can no longer see likely ...more

So according to your scenario. even if the debt is cleared or at least greatly diminished to expect the sp to stay where it is or near where it is even in a 2-3 years ?   Really ?? and you were a commercial lender ??  Obviously you wouldn't have given bbd a dime considering your outlook even with the improved balance sheet and growing sales. You have no basis for those arguements ...more

As Club said to u in an earlier post to you. Those Investors that came into the stock for $.50 cents, are now moving on. They were the Sellers here in Dec. for Tax season.  I, same as Club, wouldn't want those type of Investors. They are opportunist and make the SP volatile. They are connected to the Shorts and MM and create unnecessary havoc in the SP. I'd like to see true growth ...more

Well, I believe a lot of investment $ was looking for that, so expect them to continue selling down and out.  Add to that the news that Martel has put investors on alert for the potential start of the next down-cycle in 2023.  And investors in cyclicals like Bomber are always looking out for any sign of the cycle turning.   The net is a reasonable scenario whereby Bomber stock ...more

in no way did EM put anyone on alert for a downcycle Martel only implied that current levels of book to bill may not last forever, which is both smart and prudent considering that book to bills of 1.7 and 1.8 are almost unreal in any large business he also strongly implied book to bill would continue to be greater than 1 for another year this fantastic news the strong growth over the past year ...more

Nice, subtle bashing. Maybe it's time for you to move along!

That's not a helpful reply.  Make your case, instead.
Comment by MyNameIsNobody on Dec 14, 2021 2:19pm
No case to be made here.  He's calling you out as a subtle basher that's all.  No one has to be right about this. (Agree to disagree) I do think he's right though. Another thing... anyone who's using some username that reminds me of the previous president of the USA doesn't ring as an honest individual (Yours is too obvious)
Comment by Truthifest on Dec 14, 2021 2:45pm
Name calling is not helpful, by you, him, me or anyone else.  Reasons and emotions for or against an investment are.

Not name calling, I said your username reminded me of someone who's not known for being thruthful. (You know, he's trying to get a new social network were he'll be able to lie all he wants)   You can't have picked a name like this without having made the association, have you? Criticizing a commenter's alias is a very definition of name calling, lol. Focus on the investment thesis.  What thoughts and/or emotions do u have regarding that, especially in regards to recent developments?
Comment by BBDB859 on Dec 14, 2021 3:40pm
Hey Truth. In a couple of weeks the market will start on an up swing when Investors will start buying as opposed to selling for Tax season, and that's when the stock will start to make gains again. I'm still in favor of the slow climb upwards with sure steps taken by EM than the fast upswings and then people are trying to catch a falling knife, when there is no basis for those gains. You are the total opposite of your alias...anyone cud see your motives just by going back a little into your history.. You are all over the place with no sense of trathfulness or facts.    Great buy on Nov 17 when you said you were obviously buying. Just admit it ...you are not very good into camouflaging your motives,,,lots of so called bs'ers like you trading this stock trying to ...more

I guess we all have our own interpretation of what is name calling, lol. To answer your question, be patient and wait for the next 2 quarterly reports, good news are coming (imho)... there aren't any recent developments unless Eric's media outings the last few days and deliveries are going as promised are considered developments. Good luck

Avoidance of discussion of the merits of an investment is a sign of weakness. Thx for the input.

Enough of the psychobabble already. We want to avoid a discussion with you because you are an idiot!
Comment by Truthifest on Dec 15, 2021 9:55am
"Psychobabble"?! Another poster avoiding an open discussion of an investment thesis.  Thx for the input. Based on the defensive reactions to my posts, it seems a lot of retail is fearful.  Which is what my recent posts suggest is warranted.  I'm not seeing signs of capitulation, tho, which also suggests more downside is coming. How far will the price fall?
Comment by vonSachsenanhal on Dec 15, 2021 9:58am

Why are you avoiding a discussion of an investment thesis? Personal attacks are a Debate 101 sign of weakness. You are on record attributing the recent large drop to "manipulation", yet offer no reasonable evidence.  I, on the other hand, have said no conspiracy theories are needed---just take off your blinders and look around.  Small caps, travel (including ERJ and BA ...more

To add to this discussion, I own LULU which has been growing exponentially for a long time.  But almost every quarter without fail, it gets taken down despite pretty much beating expectations every time.  Remember that scene from the movie Fracture where Hopkins tells the story of his uncle asking him to check eggs for imperfections and he found one on every single egg?
