Military market
Inuk 138 suggested that the company wants to integrate itself in the military market.
i think that with what is going on in Ukraine presently a move like this would be lucrative for BBD.
Military drones of all kinds are in fashion these days for they become an essential part of a modern army.
Bombardier with all its expertise and manufacturing capacity would not start from scratch and could build drones as good if not better as what is offered presently.
Bbd could ask for some ´´ research’´ funds from the Gvt. to help in the developing of this new branch and develop a very lucrative sideline for they would sell quite a few of them.
Used business jets may be sold many times, but military drones have a shorter life span having a tendency of being shot down, and need to be replaced more often.

I can understand why foreign countries like the USA and France would not want BBD to succeed in the military market as it would bring another player to share the profits with. I can't understand why Canada would be against it. It would bring more specialized jobs, taxes paid , exposure as a technological advanced country as opposed to a raw materials exporter...etc...
