@ Teamee - Price of crude oil drops and so does the value of the Canadian dollar.  Travellers may be able to find a cheaper flight but they have less money to spend on a hotel room when they get to their destination.  So they're no better off.

If they have to worry about flight and hotel costs they can't afford to travel better to pay off debt and travel when can afford it. Canada is no longer Petro dollar as the last months have shown if it was it's would be on par with USD like it was in 2014.
