Idea on that proposition
On March 24, 2023, Bombardier Inc announced that it has received 2 shareholder proposals from Shareholders' Education and Defense Movement, asking the Company to disclosure of languages mastered by directors and a proposal to publish annually, a report on the representation of women in management, from entry level to C-Suite. In addition, the Company recommended the shareholders to vote against the proposal at the annual meeting of shareholders scheduled to be held on April 27, 2023.

For me company directors must be qualified individuals with in dept business knowledge, lots of experience and strong execution skills. They need to be able to "see ahead of the curve" types. (not often the case. Besides, the reality is that strong communication skills are not just about the language one speaks:) GLTA

They do not work for anyone. They really are working for the little guy, the shareholder that is not institutional or, in this particular case, the family. I'm not saying that I approve their requests, just that groups like that are useful, they help keeping management honest.. however small their impact might be. IMHO.. of course.
