CIBC: A Neutral rating

Note from Tempo1: This analysis is different than others. I didn't copy the details regarding the results, they are as positive than others analysts, but only the conclusion that is taken with a different approach. It put a target with the second part of the decade (2025-2028) finances in mind. Usually, the targets are for the 12-8 next months and I think that his approach is wrong and largely unusual.

 Keeping Our Neutral Rating:

We acknowledge BBD is executing well and has line of sight to hitting its multi-year financial targets. That said, our Neutral rating reflects expectations that business jet deliveries will peak as we approach the middle of this decade. For BBD, as a pure-play business jet OEM, that is a sentiment headwind it will have to contend with. As well, we would expect the growth capex holiday BBD has benefited from as it has gone through its current restructuring will eventually come to an end. In our view, the potential reacceleration of capex in the back half of this decade also caps the valuation upside for BBD.

CIBC has always been negative with low PT, not surprised by what I read.  I disagree with his analysis

My view of CIBC and GS is they work for the competition, have for years. If I'm EM or BD, I would not give them the time of day. At least GS doesnt pretend (stab you in the front). The situation of Bombardier is straightforward. Business jets is a good business and Bombardier is one of the best if not the best. And they are growing - revenue in first 3 quarters almost same as full year 5 ...more

I have accounts with many brokers and enjoy that situation for the large spectre of opinions I have access. I think that the targets are not the most important output of analysts but the analysis itself, the raisons behind. I will stay there. I agree with the facts mentioned by the CIBC analysts, the post 2025 financial will see an increase of the capex (I already had a discussion with BBD859 ...more

Hi Temp. I'm not adverse to reading every Banks analysis either. I just don't always agree with their Price Targets. Some are very conservative because they don't want egg on their face, from the PAST shenanigans of PB's Bombardier. I don't blame them. I still smart from his outright lying. Though I will say that, this company has transformed to a winning outfit. So I hope we& ...more

Interesting to be investor in a well managed recovery which is very different than the SP path which is dependent of the market sentiment (balancing between greed and fear). The operational results were always in line without any hiatus. But only a precision from your text: That's not private banking , these note are for distribution to many brokers and then to buyers. The prospectus written ...more
