Too simplified explanation. All companies have some debt. Are their stocks discounted in the same manner? Think about it. Bombardier has debt and more importantly bad reputation based on the past performance. It will take time and good results to change that.

Yes, you take de market cap plus the debts, that mean 12B if someone want to buy it at 12B,

There are 2 numbers that matter in debt: the numerator - cashflow growth - and the denominator - the debt. In Canada - a country dominated by banks - investors focus on the denominator. In the US - a country dominated by tech companies - investors focus on growth - the numerator. EM and his team at Bombardier while they obviously care about the debt, are focused on growing the cashflow.

Yes, that's right of the characteristics of the 2 countries Investors, Pablo. The reason EM is focussed on the Numerator here is, as you know? The larger the Numerator, the better the Denominator looks.
