Eric Martel Sells 65,807 Shares of Bombardier, Inc. Class B

Comment by bbdmic on Dec 18, 2023 8:56am
Why they only talk about the sale, E.Martel add 100,000 shares before that transaction and now He as 137,000!   He didn't sold all the share he could have sold.   I think that He is very confident that BBD will succeed!

....so far today low VOL. On Dec 13 Martel sold 50% of his shares @ $50. I don't see any panic with vol or price...
Comment by vonSachsenanhal on Dec 18, 2023 12:07pm
Anyone here have an explanation for Martel's sale? Anything to do with tax loss? Will he buy back in a couple of weeks? Club? Anybody have something to explain this?

This best nosedigger should not be trusted at all with his half truth and misguided information.   Martel sold 65,807 shares at 50.00 on dec13 in order to escercise 146,674 options at 11,50 on dec 13.    This nosedigger as I said should not be trusted with information as it is full of half truths with quite questionable agenda as I see it.  Why wouldn't he have stated ...more

Maybe Martel doesn't mind the bad optics of having exercised his options and selling the shares, for he already knows that the earning numbers that will be published in february will be far better than expected, and will eclipse the potential negativity percieved in his move.
Comment by clubhouse19 on Dec 18, 2023 7:50pm
I really do not understand the  bad optics that you are implying. How should have he exercised those options  ?   there is as i see no real comprehension for many here of how the options or rights grants work.  Whre do you expect the insiders to get the money if they don't let the shares they have work for them ?   You think he should have let those options ...more
Comment by balmusette on Dec 18, 2023 9:28pm
I understood that he exercised the options to buy the shares that these options allowed him  to buy at around 11 dollars and that he sold them after ( for whatever reason ); instead of keeping them, like I am keeping mine because I believe that the sp will grow. If that was not the case, I am always willing to learn something  here, just  write what you think is right , stay calm ...more

Martel sold 65807 shares at $50.00  : $3,290,350.00 to exercice 146674 options at $11.50  : cost $1,686,751.00 or the equivalent of 33735 shares at $50.00 He sold 32072 more shares than he needed to to exercice the options; much more than he needed to and at $50.00; this is what I think is bad optics, especialy if a majoriy of people believe the sp will be substancialy higher in 2024 ...more

So he made some money as stated on my previous post. He also was in the red for quite some time with shares that he bought at 52.50 amount of 9900 shares.  in the information   Leave it to nosedigger and others here  to be selective as many are..
Comment by clubhouse19 on Dec 18, 2023 11:53pm
You don't sell options. You exercise options or convert options to shares from the companyu. . If you already have shares that are higher at market value than your options, exercise price you would be a fool not to sell those sheres at 50.00 tol buy them back at 11.50 as he did. Check out the numbers on sedi. don't belive whatever that nosedigger tries to sell you as he constantly does ...more

Hi Club.  Do you mean EM sold 65,807 shares, in order to convert 146,674 options into that many shares??? Just wanted some clarity. Looking at the last 2 sentences of your post that are actually saying, that sold 146K shares, to get 146K shares. It's a little confusing that's all. Do you mind clarifying please? I apreciate the explanation.
Comment by clubhouse19 on Dec 19, 2023 8:22am
Yes he did and pocketed the difference as he should. That's  what a bonus us all about..call it a Christmas bonus That's what those corporate purchases ointment the market are being used for.
Comment by clubhouse19 on Dec 19, 2023 8:24am
And he ended up with more than twice the number of shares he sold
Comment by BBDB859 on Dec 19, 2023 9:32am
Who wouldn't do that? Even if he took a small loss on the shares he bought a little while ago. He's exercising for $11, and getting 2.5 times the amount of shares. Plus He's pocketing $1.5M. Merry X-mas EM.
Comment by clubhouse19 on Dec 19, 2023 10:38am
859 yes I just reread my post and now I know how confusing it was. you are correct  He sold 65.807 to buy 146,674 at 11.50 . He can very well sell those at today's price and make a double killing and the shareholders would not hold it against him, at least I wouldn't
Comment by BBDB859 on Dec 19, 2023 11:12am
Well that's the thing, right? Who would hold that against someone who is doind a killing. He's a lot better than Bellamare the snake that way, dumping his shares. He exercizes his options and he also buys more. Why should he use cash on hand to buy extra shares when he has other options. Those options are the 65K shares that he purchased already,.on an earlier date. Maybe he wants to ...more

Thanks for the explanations. The guy did the right thing by converting his 146674 options into that many shares; this is an excellent gain. Like us he wants to make money. Where I have tsome trouble with his move. He needed to sell only 33735 shares at $50.00 to cover this expense of converting the options, not 65807 shares ,and also he sold at $50.00 some of the shares ( 10000 if I remember ...more

I don't see it that way. Maybe he wanted to buy a new house out of TMR and didn't want to be saddled with 7% interest rate and pay cash instead. Whatever the reason, it is perfectly legit, any other optics would be falling into that Canadian  and Quebec trap of denegrading success.
Comment by BBDB859 on Dec 19, 2023 11:37am
Hi Balm. I get the optics part of it. It just an optical illusion though. He used his own cash to purchase those 65K shares at the time. Yet he didn't sell them when the shares were $75 because he believed, that they would go up further. Now that he got his options from the company, he could afford to purchase the options for so cheap, that he doesn't have to risk any of his own cash. He ...more

Hi BBDB859, You are quite right, optics go two ways and I agree with what you wrote. Martel had a window of opportunity to make a very nice profit and acted on it and now plays with house money, smart move. Since he still has a considerable amount of shares, he is still in the game as we all are, and finally another good observation that you made is that BBD's employees didn't exercices ...more

Thanks a lot for explaining, Club. Much appreciated. Just some  more scare tactics for weak hands, I guess.
Comment by PabloLafortune on Dec 18, 2023 2:13pm
Martel paid for all the options by selling some of them. Lol @ the nervous Nellie's.
Comment by Form001 on Dec 18, 2023 12:29pm
Always hard to say, rebalance his assets, low sales in the Q4, low prospects for Q1.
Comment by marcrobert on Dec 18, 2023 3:45pm
not tax loss. CEOs don't sell shares of their own company to generate tax loss, would be a hara kiri and shareholders would be all over it.   that said the question is valid, especially at this price. he's fairly new so he shouldn't have much room for profit, not far from a 52 week low.
Comment by clubhouse19 on Dec 19, 2023 12:21am
Another one that is clueless with regards to option exercise and compensation.  A little knowledge is dangerous, especially to yourself.
