Simple answer. Nobody thinks that's the company is worth the share price except of course the analysts.

Not even Bombardier apparently. They should have amended the NCIB months ago to allow for greater buybacks to take advantage of the extreme undervaluation we've seen since Sept. Could then have lowered the buybacks significantly in the future once the SP returns to a reasonable valuation.

Indeed I did when the SP dropped to the $40s and shortly after that they actually started buying back shares again under the current NCIB. I didn't bother mentioning amending the NCIB as I think that's a BoD decision; was just looking to get them (the Finance guys) to at least buy back the remaining allotment of 400k+ shares at the time. I see from SEDI that they completed that on Dec 20.

According to their press release, the average purchase price in 2022 under the ncib was 19.72 excluding fees. They bought 880k shares then.  I guess we will now in june of 2024 what was the amount and average price bought in 2023.     They don't make it easy for the company to buy back shares unlike how easy it is to counterfeit themand short sell.   Besdies in 2024, ...more
