Toronto workers should go back to work on Tuesday...

...as the Montreal union members held a one-day strike on 2022 June 13, before returning to work the next day to continue negotiations.

there should be no impact to near-term deliveries since final delivery of completed jets all takes place out of its Montreal plants. A similar strike from BBD's workers in Toronto occurred in July 2021 and lasted a week before a three-year deal was reached

No impact you say! How come their loosing almost all the gains of Friday!
Comment by stock4life48 on Jun 24, 2024 1:28pm
then how did they deliver 3 planes today during the middle of a strike?
Comment by DanHALO on Jun 24, 2024 1:54pm
Deliveries were probably done Friday or over the week-end. Also, if a buyer has a plane ready to be delivered on a provincial holiday, then The Bomber will deliver that plane. CCAR

Quebec is where planes are finishes and the strike only affects Toronto
Comment by johnney on Jun 24, 2024 4:22pm
Only affects Toronto you say! That's where they're built, what do you think!!
Comment by stock4life48 on Jun 24, 2024 4:41pm
Someone posted there are at least 25 planes in Montreal waiting to be finished.  Plenty to do before it causes a problem.  I don't care at all 3 more deliveries today because Federal inspection workers are doing all the paperwork/inspections for export as its not a holiday Federal workers get

This is the same group at Unifor. In 2021 they got a 6.5% raise for each year going forward to from 2021 to 2024. They used the high Inflation 10% as a bargaining chip. They are pigs, they cant get enough cash. Now that inflation is now down to 3% and they still want higher pay. Hope they settle this soon. I'd just do a 5 year deal with them so I wouldn't have to do it every 3 years.
Comment by stock4life48 on Jun 24, 2024 5:01pm
Incorrect they got an increase of 0.5% in year one, 0.75% year two and 1.0% in year three.  Not supporting the union, just want to get the correct info out there. https://www.unifor.org/news/all-news/unifor-members-bombardier-aviation-ratify-collective-agreement

Was that the Quebec Unifor group that got 6.5% then? I know that because of Inflation a recent union got 6% in negotiations recently. Can u research that please, if it's not the Downview Unifor. I'm  going with memory here.

No idea but the unifor union that is on strike didn't get much last time I really have no idea why we need unions today.  I know unions that accept agreements and then are constantly short of workers and understaffed

Sorry to Unifor Toronto for calling you pigs. You've been great at Pearson. Just get a deal done soon and get back to work please.
