Bombardier Inc. > Bombardier work at Belfast

Bombardier work at Belfast

Bombardier integrated Belfast to work on C series, and Global jet seamlessly.  This integration continued when Spirit took over.

While a220 work can be separated, the workforce separation is not that easy.  However Workforce will have to be separated as AB only bought a220 work.

Bombardier might be better off letting someone else buy Global work. But no will want to buy a loss making business. Plus pension liabilities, debt etc.

Either someone gets paid by Spirit to take the Global work or bombardier takes it for $1 plus extra for liabilities.  Just like AB did.

Thanks stock. That says it all. That's what I'm saying. They're better off letting someone else take it. But if they can separate the workforce properly, and get it cheap enough with all the cash to pay the pension liabilities from Spirit, then it will all make some sense. They also have to calculate the cost of upgrading the facility and mechanizing while they're deciding to see ...more

Totally agree

I understand that the Bombardier operation at this plant will be ineffective and unprofitable after the 220 operation seperation.  Will the best employees will rush to be in the AB operation? Not a bright future. Is that means unsecured parts procurement for Bombardier? They already had to monitor closely its suppliers to secure its procurement of parts. Even at the well organised suppliers ...more

With all the bad news some mention out here should I sell all my shares and move on with my profits???
Comment by johnney on Jul 04, 2024 9:22am
You can take your own decision, I wouldn't ask!!
Comment by johnney on Jul 04, 2024 9:18am
Delays for sure if this continues, doesn't look as the strike will end this week!!
Comment by johnney on Jul 04, 2024 9:27am
Demond quarter results will be good probably no doubt, but the third quarter the numbers will probably be different, because of the strike! Glta!

You don't know business jet well.  Aircraft completion take between  6 month and a year. Probably all airplane for this year have already leaf Toronto.   Dont worry about 2024 !
Comment by Jacques4444 on Jul 04, 2024 10:01am
Hi, I also believe this strike wont affect 2024 delivery as regional700 said. The capacity to built planes its more then the 150-155 target. All the 2024 planes will be built on time. The workers will be in vacation/holiday anyway, Im counting, the strike will end in august. I dont know nothing about Morocco/Belfast problem but I assume BBD have not make a statement for nothing, plus BBD have ...more

We all hope, that what they said will be right, we don't need an extra problem!
Comment by DanHALO on Jul 04, 2024 11:16am
Jacques4444, The strike does affect the investment institutions. Strike creates an uncertainty and insecurity for investors. At this time, most are on the sidelines and waiting for developments. This is the reason share price is basically flat in last 10 days despite good production and export of planes in Q2.
Comment by Noredneck on Jul 04, 2024 11:22am
The way it is and some are talking about maybe the price will drop... a good time to sell everything and buy at a much lower price... what do you think???
Comment by johnney on Jul 04, 2024 11:24am
Of course it does affects some, no doubt!

Indenpence day in USA, markets are closed, I guess.
Comment by BBDB859 on Jul 04, 2024 11:03am
I don't like it Temp. This Operation will have a lot of challenges a lot of cost involved and too much risk associated with it. If someone like Sarfan took it over, they could enjoy the discount from Spirit, and the headache of making it profitable. Just have Safran honor the bombers contractcontract contract

I can imagine that when Airbus executives buy a new car, they trade in the old one at the dealer. They don't bother trying to sell it themselves for more money (but more hassle).
