Comprend pas ton commentaire Jackques
Comment by SylviaM62 on Jul 09, 2024 9:07pm
Inuk, moi non plus je comprends pas le commentaire de Jackques.  J'espere que c'est une joke car il dit d'attacher nos tuques ... on est en plein ete (LOL).  Mais il m'a fait quand meme un petit peu peur (hihi).
Comment by Inuk138 on Jul 09, 2024 9:54pm
Nous sommes proche d une entente avec le syndicat, je vois l action en hausse demain s ils acceptent les termes de l'entente.

I hope they ratify this offer. What a bunch of mos this Local 673 is? I thought that, when Unifor, the unions heads recomended the offer in the morning last week, that it was a done deal. This scenario is the same as last week tomorrow. Hope this membership wants to negotiate fairly, so we can finish this stupidity.
Comment by stockitnow on Jul 10, 2024 7:09am
I am optimistic that it will be ratified.  Two weeks of lost income will have impact on members.  Longer strike will only put them in bigger financial hole. However bombardier can go another week or so before strike makes significant impact on work flow. Summer vacation work  scheduling usually looks at 3 to 4 weeks of low productivity.

Stock, I have the same feeling that the it will be accepted this time, at least hope so! Glta!

Correction: That the vote will be accepted this time, my feelings!

So your opinion is that Bombardier should put the screws to its own employees by playing hardball? This is how you end up with the Boeing Culture. Just my opinion.
Comment by trademorestock on Jul 10, 2024 10:12am
Or we go non union like Gulfstream.  I would also guess wages are cheaper in savannah geogia
Comment by MyNameIsNobody on Jul 10, 2024 10:35am
Wages are mostly always cheaper were there's no unions.  Proportion of middle-class is always smaller in those places too.  I guess lots of employees drank the 'trickle- down' kool-aid in the USA, because unions are a lot less prevalent over there. I guess you can take 'slavery' out of the day-to-day lingo but minimum-wages poverty stories are a big social issue in ...more
Comment by ChrisM5527 on Jul 10, 2024 11:01am
Off topic, but off-shoring and decimating the middle class has been a profoundly bad thing for the West.  Unions have a place still.
Comment by trademorestock on Jul 10, 2024 11:08am
I don't think that is true anymore in union vs non union wages.  Wages are however generally cheaper in low cost areas vs high cost areas for the same job I would also say with the labour shortages no one works for minimum wage compared to say 30 years ago.  I worked plenty of minimum wage jobs 30 years ago and the policy was shut up and if you don't like it there's the door ...more

I was in Georgia years ago , picking a sports car , and yes wages were much lower than Montreal ... the owner ( contractor) was paying his workers $9 per hour to install " O-G " . His personal home had 28 windows just on the facad with 4 car garage on the side ... his buddy told me it was worth $500 K , I told him back home it would cost $4 Million at least ... I saved $40 K on the ...more

Wrong.  Boeing has issues with Quality control and reporting system and retaliation.  It has nothing to do with bargaining.   When did you hear about bombardier quality issues or retaliation at bombardier.  Any whistle blowers at Downsview/Pearson? The union tentatively agreed to a deal, and members rejected it.  Its the union screwing with its members not bombardier ...more
Comment by meagain on Jul 10, 2024 10:39am
How is the Union screwing its members? They are a middle man.  Bombardier has GREAT employees, which is why there is no need to be concerned about work Quality.  If you don't pay them properly then yes, they will go the way of the Boeing.  PS Deal approved. Barely.
Comment by stockitnow on Jul 10, 2024 11:13am
Lol you said it.  Union is the middle man. Obviously they screwed up by agreeing to the first offer that was rejected instead of hammering out a better deal in the first place.  The union didn't represent/address their members concerns which lead to longer strike period which led to one more week of lost pay. You were the one bringing up Boeing as an example which has quality ...more

Really? Sounds like a lot gains made for the extra week. More than covering the extra time. Otherwise it would be another  No.  BTW the press release says operations will be back up and running today. So looks like your Globals will be getting built today lol
Comment by stockitnow on Jul 10, 2024 2:01pm
Yeah 55%.  Sure sounds like they got a good deal wink wink.
Comment by vonSachsenanhal on Jul 10, 2024 2:14pm
Exactly! You can tell management did a good job negotiating when they final vote is a squeaker!
Comment by johnney on Jul 09, 2024 10:14pm

Thats Jackques message, the one with a K. I prefer Nostradamus . He said, a long long time ago, there will be a Bomber taking altitude in a big blue sky! I think he predict it can reach the 200's...well prophecy, its prophecy, but those from Jackques, well, don't seem quit trusted  ...maybe mine neither at 200$ ...lol
Comment by johnney on Jul 10, 2024 5:04pm
Your's at $200, you say, we never know, who really knows! That gives $8 pre split! When they announced the program to develop the C-series, many years ago, got to $9, that's $225! In year 2000, it hit over $22, or $24! Of course if no market correction or Krash in front of us, we are in all times high in the markets almost!
