USMCA 2025-26

Quebec Premier Legault is suggesting to reopen USMCA right now instead of waiting to 26.
It is not a bad idea knowing that whatever happen on Jan 21Trump will impose his tax being 10-25% and then if he is not satisfied with the result, he will try again a second time in 26.
Not a bad idea to renegotiate USMCA right now on a better playing field.

Its not a bad idea.  I would like to know if Legault would cut the electricity like Doug Ford said he would do in Ontario?  Cut the oil and natural gas pipelines too.  Its the only way to fight a bully and yes its a last resort like Ford suggested

I find it awkward that Ford suggest to stop exporting energy whilst Ontario doesn’t export any. Of course, Ontario election is due sometime in 2025 if I am not wrong no wonder, he is working for Ontarian has he specifically said.     Daniell Smith replied without hesitation to Ford suggestion with a NO Way. Let’s keep the option open first. Don’t poke the bear, let him come to ...more

Ontario exported 13.9 million megawatt-hours of electricity to the United States in 2023, about 13 per cent of Canada's overall power exports to American customers that year, according to Statistics Canada

97% of Alberta oil is exported to the US. Quebec energy is exported to N Y amd MA  both are Democratic states which Trump would love to see suffering. If the final plan is to reduce all export including energy  I hope Quebec  would follow. Meanwhile dont poke the bear.

yes 97% of Alberta oil is shipped to the US, right thru the red states, prime Trump land states.  Come fill up your tank today...only $8USD/gallon, better make is quick tomorrow it will be $9 Don't poke the bear yes, you should tell Trump that, he's a 13 year old in the sandbox who doesn't realize how little power he has anyway back to Bombardier

I'm sure Canada will be united if their response. If Trump follows through. Maybe they should turn the lights off in Northern USA, so they that the orange orangatang can see first hand, what he's wishing for. I'm sure Quebec has a lot of electricity that they export to New England States & New York too. If Alberta turns the pipe off for OIl and Nat.Gas too, this can get really ...more
