Tarrifs on Feb 1/25

This is what will happen & why.

-Lumber - No Tax
-Nat Gas - No Tax
-Oil - No Tax
-Electricity - No Tax

All exempt

These items are inflationary, and the US people will see it on their bills, and at the pump right away. They are also just the USA public paying for these items, so Tarrifs will be passed on by the Canadian companies and Govt., by raising the price of the items. The Republicans needs the Tax money from these, but they can't afford to make the USA citizens start to regret they voted for Trump right away. Plus this is a 1 way item from Canada to the US other than oil, which comes back as gasoline. But the Trans Mountain is complete, and the Canadians are going to refine the own dirty Alberta oil in Quebec soon to start supplying Quebec & Ontario, and we won't import gas from them.

Drill baby drill is a novel idea for Trump, but he hasn't asked the Exxons, Chevron's & Connoco's of the US market if they want to increase supply, and if the can increase it finacially, and how fast. Investments take years and Trump will be out of office by the time these investments start to pay off for these huge corporations. So they're careful.

-Cars -Yes (the % amount unknown). But even there, the demand isn't there
-Retail - Some places yes
-Clothing -Yes but the clothing side is suffering anyway
-Fruit & Veg & staple food products - Yes (The amount unknown but still small)
-Appliances  - Yes (the amount small)

The above are stapple items, and the Republicans are hungry for money. So they'll tax all goods that they can get money from. But still small amounts for Inflation fears.

-Planes (???) It's a luxoury item that is usually exempt.

The rich will bake the price in anyway. It's a Tax deductable item. The other scenario is that the Engine is the largest item on the plane and the manufacturrers are mostly USA companies. So they'll be Taxing their own companies & those manufacturers will complain. Plus the Bomber has facilities in the US, and Trump can't Tax their own parts. And it's hard to diferentiate what is Taxable. So the amount of Taxable items are small, and he won't bother. Planes don't cross the US border, they fly, and nobody knows where they are. So they are easy to hide anyway. Trump isn't going to chase 1 company to get nothing. He will go after companies that make CARS for Musk's benefit.

If they are Taxed, then Bombardier has plenty of room to raise prices, on top of what they are selling for today. So the company will pass some of the the Tax on to the customer. The rich don't care anyway. They just want their planes fast, and they are Tax deductable either way. The Retail buyers that don't want to pay the Tax will set up corporations outside the US with no Tax laws, and wait for Trump to leave office. The other buyers like the Charters are already set up with (Cayman Islands, Isle of Man corporations anyway) Tax haven companies and the rich individuals will follow this Tax haven idea too, and Trump will get nothing from the rich anyway.

Trump can't afford to get the USA public upset with inflation, or they will take his small majority away from him in 2026, and he won't be able to pass anything in the House, and they'll paralize his Republican Govt.. Trump is already doing things that are crazy (pardoning 1,500 criminal of Jan. 6th), and he's finding oposition from the American public. It will only get worse, when he tries to go after people that crossed him from 2020 to 2024. "Vengence is mine said the Lord" not yours Trump. The Republican cult is a very religious bunch, and they won't stand for his radical attacks. Already he is backing out of finishing the Ukranian war on day 1 promise. It's Putin that calls the shots there not him, and he'll learn that very quickly. So he has to support Ukraine.

These are stark realities.

So don't fear nothing with Bombardier, and hold on to your shares, we're just fine. If you can buy more shares in these drops without hurting your bank account, then take advantage of the dips. You can only make more money from here. Cheers

Totally agree with you BBDB...planes will be exempt...I think february 1st its to soon for a big tax program but he will start for some goods, just to prove something. Then all others goods will be postpond to a commitee for a report in april. Still believe BBD will go up strong, very strong soon ( bringing back to 113$ and more). Institutionals have bought a lot of shares past weeks and more ...more

BBDB makes a bunch of statements by someone who knows nothing about everything but thinks he does and takes much of his time to be sure we know he doesn't know. A few inaccurate things: - USA always taxed lumber even they couldn't according to the agreements they signed - you think the USA should calculate which part of a plane is made in Canada and which part is not. False. They could ...more

Levilliard You're still on ignore. This isn't going to get you points. I don't discuss your knowledge or any of your posts here. I'm not a kid. I don't rattle from people like you. If I say 100 things and 80% are right? Then I'm happy to contribute to the board. If you are so knowledgeable, you'd just correct a post, and not be a vindictive child like the one we're ...more
