Dividends sometimes need to be introduced for shareholders

IMO, dividents in bbd case right now is very bad idea,  using every $ to pay L.T debt is the priority,  that will get credit agencies to improve bbd rating  and bbd.b sh. P will jump up  forget about dividents

completely agree pay down debt should be the first priority, my opinion having a token dividend won't attract new investors nor the SP. BBD management has taken steps to both get its finances under control and setup the company for continued growth.

Point taken on dividends...although on the revenue side of things related to debt with bold steps to bring down high interest rates (possible 75 BP) they need to still take advantage of funding towards military initatives BIG TIME!! along with the debt. Cheers!

I am not aware of many militiary initatives BBD is involved in.  There is the patrol plane rejected by Canada and ordered by the US, but I recall during an ER that Eric or Bart said the investment to make that plane was minimal from existing designs. what other militiary initatives are you aware of on the books?

With current Boeing issues and the demise of the Liberals in power along with the outcome of the US elections and world tensions... specualation only and possibly introducing of a new combat aircraft division into their portfolio of planes. Ofcourse we don't want to repeat the railroad fiasco spinoff we had in the past yet a slow and easy approach would sure open eyes for potential investors ...more

combat planes?  read this and let me know if BBD can afford the costs, which makes the C series look like a rounding error. https://fortune.com/longform/lockheed-martin-f-35-fighter-jet/

Hi LetsMake - there is a misconception on this board that the Bombardier plane is equivalent to the Boeing plane that Canada purchased.  AFAIK there is no bomb bay on the Bombardier planes to drop torpedoes.  Not even sure if the hard points could support the Harpoon anti-ship missles that the Boeing plane carries. I'd rather not have Bombardier try to develop all that for limited ...more

Chris, the missile plane that Canada passed on is a go.  The US military ordered 1 with options for 2 more.  Bart or Eric said at a ER the deign cost was minimal Personally I'm fine with developing that plane given future sales opportunities if indeed the cost is minimal.  If they have a value range to develop I forget I'm also eager to hear guidance past 2025 because if I ...more

Hi LetsMake the HADES program is signal intelligence. The planes do not have an aggressor capability. They will not engage any targets but will have some AWAC capability. My understanding.  I'm sure Bombardier is more then capable of modifying a global to be able to carry internally torpedoes and wing hard points. No doubt. The bomb bay doors needed to drop those internal ...more

Chris, yes you are correct, for some reason I had it in my head that the US military was ordering some of these planes, but I guess not. I trust Eric and Bart, they haven't let us down so I see no reason to doubt them if they wanted to pursue a missile/torpedo plane.  I agree paying down the LTD is important but that is well under control so there should be some thought given now of what ...more

Dividends are at least 1 year away, more than likely after Q4/2025 ER which would be early Feb 2026 at the earliest.  We have to get the LTD under control first

You have a point. However I can promise you that paying the debt will do much more for share price than paying a measly dividend (that's all that could be paid even in 2025-26. Growth companies use available capital to grow the business before paying cash to anyone. GLTA
