i no longer have a dog in this fight i still think BCE will go lower. news on a dividend cut coming out soon.

I started seeing a lot of Motley fool commentary on how this was a Bargain at 50.00. The payout ratio is enormous and the chart shows no bottom yet...I still think the Firing of Lisa Laflamme back in August 22 cast a spell on this stock. The sentiment still lingers along with the higher for longer interest rates narative.

An analyst (on Questrade's site) recently stated that BCE does not have enough FCF right now to pay its dividends.  If that's the case, could the short selling bring the SP down to the low $40s?

EVen though I hate owning a stock that goes down...unfortunately they have to do that to get a bargain. BCE is for sure in bargain territory. So take advantage of this weakness. Accumulate/buy down here and sit back and collect that juicy divvy.

What's Questrade? I'm with TD Waterhouse.  None of the analysts from my brokerage are saying such nonsense. Actually, the lowest analyst target is $51 with the highest at %57.50. If you want to read somthing informative read the S&P Report from March 11. Most analysts have an agenda.

Well, if the armchair experts are sooo right about the company being in such dire straits, then maybe a dividend cut is exactly what the stock needs to turn around? I really don't care; my time horizon is well-beyond a gnat's attention span.

Dividend cut..... not likely unless things really fall off the cliff. Too many pensioners hold this for the income. Until interest rates come down alot and the fibre resale issue is resolved, no one knows where this is going.
