Hello
Just picked some of this up today. Happy to be here and look forward to collecting this divy for a long time to come. Now that I'm in it can start moving up off support and back to pre-covid levels and beyond TYVM GLTA ;-)

I am thinking of buying bce. question...how long BEFORE the "ex date" one has to buy and how long do you have to keep the shares AFTER the "ex date" to qualify for the dsivident.

Coincidentally, this guy published this YouTube video this past week. His explanation is much better than mine.

...great video...thank you guys...really my intensions are to put the money in and collect the dividends. Altough I know there will be times when the temptation to outsmart the system may come up. Ultimately the best plan will be to leave it in and forget it.....maintain

To collect the dividend you have to buy it before the ex-dividend date. The date of record is two days later which gives the stock time to settle.

Just buy it, hold it, forget about it, drip it, collect that dividend, reinvest it, repeat. The only regret any long term holder of this company has is that they didn't buy earlier.
